WIND FARM DEVELOPMENTS

The renewables field is one of substantial growth. Historically the focus has been centred on wind farm development where the current technology is both proven and known in the UK.

ANAEROBIC DIGESTION

With both climate change and fuel security high up the national agenda, the production of fuel from renewable domestic resources has been attracting much publicity recently.

BIOMASS

This is the production of short rotation forestry/coppice or forestry bi products which are burned to produce heat and electricity.

HYDRO POWER

For isolated properties with access to a water course with a good head of water, a small hydro scheme can be a suitable means of providing electricity.

SOLAR

Solar power involves the capture of energy from the sun to produce electricity. It can be installed for self-supply or export to the grid and, with careful planning, can sit alongside other renewable technologies including biomass, wind and AD.
