Chris graduated in 2012 and is experienced in estate and property management, energy, planning and development, telecoms, compulsory purchase and compensation claims.  Chris spent a year as the assistant resident agent on a country estate managing various residential, agricultural and commercial enterprises before relocating to the Richmond office to specialise in housing and renewable developments.

Now based at our Barnard Castle office, Chris spends the majority of his time working with Calum Gillhespy in all of the Company’s Planning and Development projects.  These projects range from one off conversions undertaken by landowners to strategic housing sites developed under option or promotion agreements with developers.

In addition to residential developments,  Chris provides landowners with advice on new and existing energy developments including biomass boilers, wind and solar farms, anaerobic digesters, diesel generators and battery storage systems.

Other aspects of Chris’ role include advising on and negotiating telecommunication mast leases and rent reviews, protecting landowners subject to compulsory purchase orders and preparing compensation claims.

Chris is a Chartered Surveyor, an Agricultural Valuer and a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association.  Chris was a finalist in the MATRICS Young Surveyor of the Year Awards last year and at the end of 2016 was appointed as a Rural Associate Director with GSC Grays.
