The Basic Payment Scheme phase is now in full flow and during this nine week window our Farm Business team has put in place measures to help clients complete this important process. With the BPS remaining a crucial income stream for UK farmers there may, understandably, be extra concern around farm business support to complete this year’s applications.
Basic Payment Scheme Claims
BPS claims vary in size which means the number of times we need to consult with clients and the length of those appointments can vary from very brief to meetings over several days for more complex claims.
Over the course of the next several weeks 20 members of the GSC Grays’ Farm Business Team will be covering 143,000 acres of land, supported by six further members of staff. We’ll be carrying out claims for clients via telephone and video conferencing for a wide range of farmers across Yorkshire and the North East.
With a narrow window, plus the extra restrictions in place due to Covid-19 we don’t want any farm business to feel overwhelmed. Be assured that we can guide you through the whole process, keeping risk to a minimum.
How to get BPS support from GSC Grays
Our farm business consultants, whilst working remotely, can cover a wide geographic area – from the Scottish Borders, to the East Ridings of Yorkshire to the hills of Cumbria. To access support in a way that works for you, contact our regional offices:
Alnwick: 01665 568 310
Easingwold: 01347 837100
Chester-le-Street: 0191 303 9540
Colburn: 01748 897630
The deadline for submissions to the Rural Payments Agency is the 15th May, and our recommendation is to complete the process as soon as feasible in the present conditions.
