Wind Farm Developments

Not without controversy, wind turbines can provide a source of income with relatively little impact on the host business.  As such it can be a useful means of providing income for retiring or non-farming family members.

Opportunities for new commercial wind farm developments are currently challenging with the best opportunities offered through the repowering of existing sites.  Repowering projects tend to overcome the planning obstacles which face new developments but can involve detailed negotiations amongst the existing landowners and the site is still exposed to the financial volatility of the sector.

Single turbines developed in accordance with the feed and tariff regime remain economically viable subject to grid connection and planning consent being forthcoming.

At GSC Grays we have experience in both greenfield and repowering projects, acting for landowners across the country.
