The application window is now open for farmers to apply for a Hedgerows and Boundaries Grant to help restore their existing farm boundaries.
A capital grant of up to £10,000 per applicant is available for stone wall restoration, hedgerow gapping up, laying and coppicing amongst other options.
The main change to this year’s application round is that farmers who have an existing Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) scheme in place are now eligible to apply for the capital grant.
Those in the ten year HLS schemes were previously locked out of applying for further environmental capital funding and so this is a welcome change.
Should you have any hedgerows or stone walls you feel would benefit from restoration, get in touch with your local GSC Grays Farm Business Consultant who will be more than happy to help with the application process.
