THE CLOCK IS TICKING!!

North Yorkshire County Council has recently released the proposed road closures for when the Tour de France hits Yorkshire this July and as we had anticipated, the route will see the cyclists speed past our GSC Grays Leyburn office on the afternoon of Saturday 5th July 2014 at around 3pm.

The County Council anticipates that the identified roads will be closed for a minimum of 8 hours to allow for preparation of the race route, the handover to the Tour de France organisers, access for the publicity caravan (which comprises more than 150 sponsors’ vehicles), the race itself, the removal of race infrastructure, and the safe dispersal of spectators.

Given the anticipated number of visitors to North Yorkshire, it is likely that the roads will be closed for most of the Saturday. Wherever feasible, access will be maintained on key routes that cross the closed roads for as long as possible before the race.

For more information on the proposed road closures for Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Grand Depart please see the link below.
