GSC Grays Tees Charity Challenge 2016 – 72 Mile Non Stop Walk

As part of our annual fundraising plans, a ‘crack’ team from GSC Grays have decided to plan and undertake a 72 mile non-stop relay walk, setting off from the beautiful Cowgreen Reservoir at the head of Teesdale and following the route of the River Tees to the industrial heart of Middlesbrough.

A few of our more daring Directors namely Guy Coggrave, Chris Arundel, Lucinda Riddell and David Cooper, along with other key staff have accepted this Tees Charity Challenge!

The walk will be split into six key stages and will be setting off first thing on Friday 23rd September 2016, hoping to reach the finish and the iconic Middlesbrough ‘Transporter Bridge’ by 2pm on Saturday 24th September 2016 – aiming to be done in less than 30 hours!Transporter-Bridge-Middlesbrough

We have chosen to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research and the Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team – both do fantastic work in our region. Given that we are planning to walk the route of the Tees, which perfectly bisects our key client areas of both Co. Durham and North Yorkshire, we couldn’t think of two more appropriate charities to support. We have set up a team page on Just Giving http://bit.ly/2aU8934  we would welcome any support from you to help us reach our targets for this fantastic challenge.

We do have some corporate sponsorship opportunities for the event and would love to hear from any interested companies… please email Helen Allison at hea@gscgrays.co.uk  to find out more.
